Sign the large order again! Settle in Chinese Yuan.

On October 18th, China State Shipbuilding Corporation's Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding jointly signed a contract with the world's largest independent container ship leasing company, Seaspan, from Canada, in Shanghai. The contract is for the construction of 6 large 13,600 TEU container ships developed independently by China State Shipbuilding Corporation. The contract is settled in Chinese yuan, marking the largest shipbuilding order in China this year for container ships, settled in Chinese yuan.

The 13,600 TEU large container ship signed this time is a green and environmentally friendly container ship developed and designed independently by China Shipbuilding's Hudong-Zhonghua. It is approximately 336 meters long, 51 meters wide, and can carry a maximum of 14,132 standard containers, with 2,000 reefer container slots. The design incorporates the latest environmental protection concepts and is equipped with desulfurization towers and energy-saving devices, which can meet the shipowner's future green fuel retrofitting needs, ensuring low energy consumption, high speed, and green environmental performance.

It is noteworthy that this batch of orders is the third batch of large container ships that Hudong Zhonghua has undertaken this year, totaling 15 ships. It is the first time to settle in Chinese Yuan and also the largest shipbuilding order settled in Chinese Yuan for container ships in China this year, which is of great significance in promoting the internationalization of the Chinese Yuan.

According to the information available, the series of ships covered by this contract are scheduled to be completed and delivered consecutively between 2026 and 2028.
